Privacy Policy — NFC Utility
Last updated: March 19, 2026
Overview
NFC Utility (“the App”) is an NFC tag reader and writer for iOS. This policy explains what data the App collects and how it is used.
Data Collection
Authentication Data
When you sign in with your Yoto account, the App receives an access token from Yoto’s authentication service. This token is stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. The App does not store your Yoto username or password.
NFC Tag Data
The App reads and writes data to NFC tags you physically present to your device. Tag data (UID, NDEF records) is displayed on-screen and is not transmitted to any server or stored persistently.
Yoto Content Data
When signed in, the App fetches your playlist library from the Yoto API to display titles, cover art, and metadata. This data is not stored locally beyond the current app session.
Data Sharing
The App does not share your data with third parties. All network communication is limited to:
-
Yoto authentication servers (login.yotoplay.com) for sign-in
-
Yoto API (api.yotoplay.com) for fetching your playlists and device information
Data Storage
-
Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted, on-device only)
-
No analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs are included
-
No data is collected or transmitted beyond what is described above
Your Rights
You can sign out at any time to remove all stored authentication data. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
